Step 2 {Create a Look for Your Wordpress Blog}

Posted on | February 28, 2010 | No Comments

Now that we have talked about starting with wordpress to create your look, I’m going to talk about the creative side and getting that one of a kind look for your site. Most of us don’t want to just settle for what john doe created for the general public to look like, each of us have a unique personality. In the real world one would shop for clothes that reflect oneself, because that is what everyone is going to be staring at. Why not set up you blog to also reflect you?

Some do and some don’t, the trick is knowing how and once you do it’s easy.

I pick Adobe, choosing Photoshop and Illustrator to really be my paintbrush and canvas.

When I made this layout I used mostly Photoshop, using patterns to create my background and brushes to help add a photographic/artsy feel.

These are easy things that you can take time to figure out — if you don’t have Photoshop try it out, checkout the free trial. Create something of your own.

Next look forward to learning how to plug in your individual style to your pre-written layout. I know this will seem like a little repeat from before, but I thought some visuals might be helpful. I’m going to give step-by-step visual examples from my own website.
