Being a Photographer

I was having a conversation with my mom earlier and we were talking about being a photographer. How much work really does going into a photograph within photoshop? And what truly makes a photographer professional?

Once I’ve taken a photograph in my camera I pull it into Camera Raw in Photoshop (because I always shoot in RAW, not JPEG), then in about 5-10 seconds I have made the changes to my photographs that I desire. The policy I have learned and use is “get it in the camera.”

I don’t believe in the auto setting, or programing; especially when it comes shooting my artistic pieces, I believe that manual is the only true setting on a camera and getting my photograph to look perfect belongs to the camera, not photoshop.

But for the amateur like me….auto setting works until I get as good as you….which will be never!
