The Holidays are in the Air

The saying normally goes, “love is in the air,” but if you have ever worked in retail you will understand what I am talking about. As soon as Halloween has passed us by, before the little kiddies have eaten all their candy, the stores have Christmas decorations out. Forget Thanksgiving, it’s straight to Christmas, cause as we all know that is where the big bucks are.

I work at The Limited and it was the day following Halloween when we all stayed up half the night and began to bring out the holidays in our store. So, the holidays are in the air, and the fact is I love it!

I’m the kind of person who tunes into the Christmas music stations starting November 1st, I’m a sucker for the holidays and the magical feeling that fills the air during this time of year. I can’t wait till Thanksgiving, which is when I give myself permission to begin enjoying the Holiday movies (and not to mention all the yummy food that comes on that day of all days). I can’t wait for the decorations to begin filling the front lawns of my neighbors and driving through the neighborhoods to admire all the lights with Christmas music playing in my car. This year I think I’ll even take a trip to D.C. and photograph the happenings down there.

It’s all about magic for me, the feelings that well up inside of everyone because it’s Christmas time. There is beauty and serenity in the thought and joy that Christmas brings. It really is the most wonderful time of the year!
